Upper Lusatia (Oberlausitz) - Bautzen - Görlitz

Upper Lusatia is the most eastern holiday-region in Germany. It is worth a visit not only because of a rich natural environment but also because of old towns, cultural treasures, living traditions. Why do we find place names or street names there in two languages? Because the Lausitz Region is an area of a small group of Slavic People, the Sorbs, with their own mother tongue, customs of inestimable value and still alive and thriving today.

You will find the famous Umgebinde houses, traditional vernacular architecture which are a characteristic feature of this landscape, the fascinating „Land of 1000 Lakes“ in the region north of Bautzen.

Discover architecture from various periods in Görlitz, the more than thousand-year-old Bautzen with its mediaeval atmosphere, Löbau, Kamenz, Zittau etc. Görlitz offers 4.000 treasures from late Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods, Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) facades and many more contemporary witnesses. It was on the short list for the „European Capital of Culture“ in 2010.

Saxony’s finest Baroque County Palace in Rammenau is the gateway to Upper Lusatia - region. The castle was built between 1721-1737.

The Upper Lusatia is also home of exiting leisure parks for families. We are member of the "Freizeitknüller der Oberlausitz", which is a cooperation of multiple leisure, theme and animal parks, fun pools, museums and lots of amusement parks.
